Product Description
Abstract
The Rio Nacionale Football Club, one of the oldest football clubs in Brazil, has fallen on hard times. The worsening economy, an aging stadium, and the establishment of several new football clubs in the Rio de Janeiro area has meant the loss of many big name players and a string of losing seasons. As a result, Rio Nacionale has fallen to the bottom of the "A" division of Brazilian football.
Diego Primadonna, a former star for Rio Nacionale, is looking to make a comeback. After being traded to another team, Diego played two successful seasons and then was sidelined with a serious injury to his left knee. Three seasons ago, following surgery and months of rehabilitation, Diego returned to the field. While he doesn’t have quite the same playing ability or flair that he had in his youth, Diego still commands the name recognition of a legend.
Weeks before the season is set to begin, Rio Nacionale placed their star forward on the short-term injury list. At his own initiative, Diego got in touch with the Director of Player Personnel for the Rio club to ask if there was any possibility that they might be interested in signing him. The Director of Player Personnel seemed interested, so the two asked their agents to see if they could negotiate a deal to sign Diego to Rio Nacionale for the upcoming season.
